Description:
The Netfinity 18.2 GB 15,000 RPM
fibre channel hot-swap hard drive provides the highest level of performance
of all Netfinity fibre channel options. It is a
solid solution where maximum bandwidths for streaming data transfers are required.
This drive features improved seek times and average latency, with an average seek time
of 4.1 milliseconds.
These performance improvements are implemented without compromising
reliability, as the drive has similar power and cooling characteristics as
earlier 10,000 RPM drives. The drive is premounted on a hot-swap tray that
supports installation in either a Netfinity FAStT EXP500 or IBM FAStT200 storage
server. It supports Predictive Failure Analysis (PFA) that, when combined with
Netfinity Director or Netfinity Manager, can alert the system administrator of
an impending drive problem up to 24 hours before failure occurs.
