If you are looking at one of our eBay auctions please use the shipping calculator link
in the auction to get a shipping quote. If you are looking at items on our
website or you are looking to get a quote for multiple items shipped together.
Just add them to your cart at www.primelec.com and then
hit the estimate shipping button to get a shipping quote. All of our shipping
quotes are based on where you would like the item shipped, the shipping method
you select, and the actual shipping weight of the item. We only add a nominal
handling fee to the actual shipping to cover packaging and insurance for the
package. Top of page
-Do you combine
shipping? Yes we do combine
shipping on multiple items and multiple orders. All of our shipping charges are
based on the weight of the items you have won, the current rates for the method
you select, and the shipping address that you enter when you checkout your order
with the Blue Checkout button on our auctions or directly from our
web-site. Top of page
-What does OEM stand for? OEM generally
means "original equipment manufacturer." Sometimes it is referred to as
"open-ended market" and used interchangeably with "bulk-pack," "white box,"
"brown box," and "gray market."
Almost all PC component and software
vendors make two versions of the same product based on a difference in the
distribution channels.
One is the retail boxed products that are sold
mainly through retailers. Guess who is paying for the nice-looking packages
which cost vendors extra material and labor to produce (and everybody more
pollution)? Retail packages also takes up more spaces and cost more to ship.
The second one is the OEM products which are sold mainly to system
builders, large ones such as HP and Dell (the OEMs) and many small ones such as
the mom-and-dad shop on the corner and the DIY builders. These bulk-pack
products do not have fancy packaging materials and are often produced in much
higher volume, both of which result in much lower prices that have not been
available to the public. The OEM products are of the same quality and often
carry the same manufacturer warranty as their retail counterparts (the
single-pack). They also often include supporting materials such as manuals and
drivers when applicable.
Whenever we can we distribute and sell the OEM
versions for products such as microprocessors, memory, network cards, hard
drives, and video cards, letting end-users and customers share the low cost.
Finally, OEM prices for the general public.
Besides the packaging and
prices, there are sometimes other differences between the retail and OEM
versions of a product. Here are a few examples.
Bundled Software:
Sometimes the retailed version comes with bundled applications software, which
the OEM version may not. This is especially true for high-end video and audio
cards. How useful such bundled software is, is often questionable.
Manual and Support: The hard-copy manual for the OEM version
may be limited to one per shipping box. However, most of the information is on a
CD or on manufacturer's web site. Some manufacturers claim that they do not
support their own OEM products. The OEMs are supposed to do the support. Top of page
-Can you ship via USPS to U.S. address's?
We only offer the shipping methods listed in the shipping
calculator in the auction. Please use that to get a price for shipping. We only
offer USPS domestically to Alaska and Hawaii. We no longer offer USPS for all
other domestic shipping. Even though it can be cheaper it is extremely
unreliable and we were loosing approximately 25% of our packages and our
shippers insurance will no longer cover packages shipped domestically via
USPS. Top of page
-Can you create a special auction for me?
Sorry, but we do not create buyer specific auctions. If
you are looking to purchase multiple of an item your options are as follows:
-Bid on multiple auctions and then use the checkout button from one of
them to combine your orders, calculate shipping, and pay for the items
-Purchase the items directly from our website.
If you have any questions in regards
to this please feel free to call and speak to one of our customer service
representatives. Top of page
-Can you put a lower declared value for customs? I am sorry
but it is illegal to misrepresent the items being shipped on customs forms and
this will normally cause the item to be either rejected or red flagged. Also, by
declaring the item at a lower price we are basically negating our shipping
insurance because it will only cover the item up to the value we declare. Top of page
-What is your return policy?
If you feel your item is defective please contact us
via e-mail for approval and instructions before shipping the item back.
We do not accept returns for compatibility issues; so please verify
compatibility before purchasing.
All returns are tested and processed
within 1 week of receiving the item. Upon testing your return and verifying it
is defective we will either ship you a replacement or issue a refund based on
availability of comparable replacement.
If you ship back an item without
requesting approval or receiving instructions; the package will be returned. If
you fail to follow the instructions sent to you it will delay processing of the
return.
Any returns due to compatibility
issues or for non-defective items are subject to a 10% restocking fee. They
buyer will be responsible for paying the return freight and we will not issue a
refund for the original freight. Top of page

auctions and then use the checkout button from one of them to combine your
orders, calculate shipping, and pay for the items -Purchase the items directly from our website. Top of page
